5700 workers determined against reactionary trends

On November 2 in Hibiya Outdoor Music Hall, 5700 workers and youth gathered to National Workers' Rally in confrontation against reactionary trends within labor movement. A gigantic step forward was thus made to revive Japanese labor movement in a revolutionary direction through smashing the defeatist line of "The Four Parties and Four Organizations" in regard to the struggle of dismissed 1047 national railway workers.

● The collapse of capitalism, imperialism, has entered a decisive stage. It is high time to accomplish proletarian world revolution.

A worldwide financial crisis far surpassing the Great Depression in 1929 has erupted. Imperialism at its final period has, in the last decades, carried on its neo-liberal agenda of deregulation and privatization practicing the capitalist law of the jungle to its full extent. A handful of bourgeois have thus earned an astronomical profit through exploiting working class brutally, imposing extremely heavy work, dismantling social welfare system and driving all working people into unbearable poverty. The full-scale practice of the neo-liberal agenda finally ended in a disintegration of the whole economic and social system of capitalism in its core.

August 15, the day of the 63rd anniversary of the end of World War II (day of the surrender of Japanese imperialism), was commemorated by a rally titled " ' Crab-Canning Ship ' －Do we allow the Constitution succumb to national interest and chauvinistic nationalism?'". 580 participants gathered to the rally in Nakano, Tokyo.
※ "Crab-Canning Ship"(1929): a slave labor story by a prewar proletarian writer, KOBAYASHI Takiji, who was tortured and murdered by police in 1933. Its first line sounds like this: "Let's go on board. Are you ready? It's a hell on the sea"
Fukuda was accompanied by KYUMA, ex-Defense Minister who had commented that the US atomic bombings on Hiroshima and Nagasaki were to be admitted. Fukuda administration of Japanese Imperialism and ruling politicians are promoting nuclear armament policy on the one hand and are bringing about day by day desperate situation on the other hand where workers, especially young workers can no longer live. The demonstrators raised angry voices against those politicians who are driving for war with an attempt of nuclear armament.
Prior to the demonstration, a rally was held in the adjoining park to the official ceremony spot. Workers, students and anti-war activists, including Ms. Arlene Inouye from US (she is a leading activist of CAMS and belongs to UTLA), expressed their determination to keep fighting. Ms. Arlene Inouye stressed among other things the importance of international solidarity.
